Sam comes from a family with a history of attorneys in Western North Carolina. Having a comprehensive legal background that extends well beyond estate planning, Sam brings valuable insight from his experience in litigation and real estate. This multidisciplinary perspective is particularly advantageous when structuring estate plans for clients with intricate business interests or unique asset configurations. Sam advises clients on a wide array of issues in the context of estate and trust planning and administration. He assists in the preparation of Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney to achieve each client's objectives in planning for death, incapacity, and asset distribution.
Sam has extensive experience formulating estate plans, and his experience brings
significant value to clients with varying types of planning needs and levels of complexity, ranging from simple estates, where efficiency is the primary objective, to sophisticated estates. Sam also devotes a significant portion of his practice representing clients in partition actions.
In addition to his estates and partition work, Sam also advises businesses on their
general corporate needs, succession planning needs, and provides advice in structuring business mergers and acquisitions.
Sam also serves as a court appointed guardian ad litem in guardianship proceedings on a regular basis.
Sam has served in various leadership positions within the Haywood County Community, including President of the Waynesville Rotary Club. Sam also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Sam enjoys exploring Western North Carolina, college football, playing the drums, and spending time with his lovely wife and two amazing boys.
